Project Coordinator - $65,000 - $85,000 year (salary)
Milwaukee, WI - Hybrid
We are looking to add a full-time Project Coordinator to the Spark team! Candidates with 3 to 5 years of experience in the construction industry are preferred. The project coordinator's role is more focused on executing specific stages of each assigned project, with the ability to quickly grow into a project management role. The ideal candidate will experience small to medium-sized, ground-up, and tenant improvement retail projects. Annual project workload varies, but typically project budgets range between $50K - $1.5M, with coordination of 10 – 20 projects per year.

Skills + Abilities
This position includes such duties and responsibilities customarily associated with construction project coordination, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, and suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communication in a clear, concise, and professional manner
- Assist the Director of Construction Operations (DCO) in assigned projects from concept through implementation
- Implement best-in-class processes and methodologies to ensure assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget
- Demonstrate basic construction management skills focusing on design, construction, and contract management
- Ability to multi-task; managing simultaneous tasks at any given point in time while knowing the appropriate level of engagement for each project
- Initiative-taker with the ability to organize project parameters and work with minimum direction and supervision
- Assist the DCO in day-to-day operational aspects of all assigned projects
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with franchisees, stakeholders, peers, and project members
- In coordination with the DCO, assist in negotiation and conflict resolution
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Maintain up-to-date reporting, for assigned projects, and tracking of project status’ using Procore Project Management Tracking Data-Base System
- Assist the DCO in the management of architects, engineering consultants, construction contractors, or any other vendors as required for the successful implementation
- Ability to interpret design plans and specification documents
- Basic knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
- Basic knowledge of Construction Means and Method
- Manage assigned projects and serve as the primary customer-facing contact during the construction process and while working with third party vendors
- Help facilitate execution of vendor agreements
- With direction from the Director of Construction Operations, hold vendors accountable to the expectations that Spark sets for the relationship
- Assist the DCO and work admin staff to identify critical billing milestones for on-time billing and collection of payments
- Reports to Director of Construction Operations
PREFERRED:
- Knowledge of building codes
- Understanding of construction cost estimating, life cycle costing, and value engineering concepts and how they can be applied in the design construction phase
- Knowledge of site work retention, grade and drain, and basic elements for zoning and site acceptability
Education
Associates degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field preferred.
Certified Associate Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum preferred.
Technical Skills
- Computer literacy includes MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and MS Project software, familiarity with Auto-CAD is desirable, and could learn proprietary software programs
Working Conditions
- Office environment
- Minimal travel required
- On-Site | work in an office for 3 days a week
- Remote for 2 days a week
